Bastille Day: Paris, July 14, 2012, Esplanade des Invalides.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     parallaxes says July 14 marks Bastille Day, which is celebrated in France to commemorate the storming of the Bastille in 1789. He says the most significant event of the day was when French President came to cheer an paratrooper who injured himself landing before the President. He says during this day civilians meander through the military equipment that is set up in Paris, testing gears on the helicopters for example.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

After the traditional parade particularly dedicated today to the army "serving the nation and the peace in the world", participants have moved , like every year, to different places in the capital. Here, the Esplanade des Invalides in the 7th district.
Besides the official ceremony in the morning, the idea is to gather together the participants and a public who is curious to approach the soldiers and the military equipment.
Young people and elderlies, locals and tourists can talk with representatives of the various army corps, but also with the firefighters, the GIGN teams, the specialists of the dog unit...
A sunny day in Paris for a relaxed atmosphere.
