This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Living in small spaces

    Cob Cottage

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     marcosgross says he chooses to live in a small space because it's a simple way of life. "It is possible to live large in a small space as long as the design flows with your life," he says. "The advantages of living in such as small space are that the cleanup is fast and easy. There's smaller maintenance costs over the life of the home."
    - Anika3, CNN iReport producer

This is our 500 ft2 cob cottage. Built in 2008 with less than 1000 dollars in materials and countless hours of sweat labor. All dirt is from onsite. There was no cement used in the construction. The plasters and paints are 100% natural made with clay and mica. The floor is an earthen floor. This is the first home I built. I will soon, when I have the cash, put a new, greener roof on and a 2nd floor!
