    Stranger's In the Night

After one of of the many fast and furious lightning and wind storms in our area, we ended up with a yard full of broken limbs and branches. My little mixed Yorkie/Cairn Terrier Dozer was raising some "Cairn Cain" night before last, on his last round out doors for the evening. After tempting him with treats he still would not come in the house. I figured I had best try to find out what he was after. Toting a flashlight and my camera of course at midnight, I saw the dog barking wildly at a downed limb and could see little red eyes peeping through the dried leaves. I feared it might be one of my barn kitties maybe hurt and Dozer was letting me know about it.
Anyway as you can see if you look carefully what all the ruckus was about. Dozer was not getting real close to the critter but she sure was making a lot of noise growling and hissing. finally I was able to grab the dog by the scruff and get him back into the house. If you have never seen a opossum up close they can be very scary looking with teeth like razors.
Thought I would share this breaking news moment! lol!
