    Water rafting in Kalinga

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter Sherbien captured an extreme sport for this assignment - white water rafting! The scene is the Chico River in Kalinga, a province of the Philippines. The sport was fun but participants - including local officials - also took part to raise awareness of a worthy cause. "The water rafting is organized to increase awareness [of the ban on] garbage dumping at Chico river," he told CNN. "The water rafting also celebrates the success of the Kalinga people in 1970 in preventing and lobbying against the construction of the biggest dam in Southeast Asia. [It] signifies that eco-tourism will pave the way and give income to the province."
