    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     ljmagnuson says on July 20, torrential rain swept through New Orleans. 'The rain was pouring down so intensely seem like somebody has turned on the shower,' she says. She says within a few minutes the rain flooded low lying streets with water. 'It set a record for rain in the month of July,' she says.

    During Mardis Gras, St. Charles Avenue is a parade route. Today, most streets have several inches of rain. This is St. Charles near Louisiana Avenue going Westbound around 3PM. On my way to work.
