Capturing History in Real Time
Hello, I’m Jim from La Crosse, Wisconsin and I want CNN to fly me to Charlotte! Give me the chance to capture history in real time.
My interest in political photojournalism began in 1975, photographing candidate Jimmy Carter. I photographed President Bill Clinton campaigning for Hillary in 2007, and Michelle and future President Barack Obama the same year. In 2011, I began documenting Wisconsin’s historic Recall elections for over a year. My goal- to bring personal stories to you, and the world.
As I captured fleeting images and wrote what I observed, I knew I was documenting history. I quickly realized social media had the potential to document history in real time. I would be honored to be your CNN iReporter in Charlotte. Let me bring you the excitement, the people and their stories from the Democratic Convention right to you, as they happen, in real time.
