    The Statue is Gone

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     spintography found out about the Joe Paterno statue being taken down at Penn State in the morning on July 22, and decided to go see what the area looked like without the statue. She said that news of the statue's removal was not surprising to hear. 'I think a lot of us anticipated it was going to be removed,' she says. But even though she had a feeling it would be taken down, seeing it missing for the area made her think about Penn State. 'It seemed lik an end of an era,' she says. 'I think regardless of whether I disagree or agree with the removal of the statue, I think the University did what they had to do, and my thoughts are with the victims,' she says.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Visiting the site of the removed Joe Paterno statue. Not many people were there yet. Most were quiet and observing, with only one person protesting.
