    Riteish is sick of comedies!

Riteish Deshmukh has been in the industry for almost a decade now, and as talented as the actor is, he's been utilised most in comedies in all these years. Be it the scheming side-kick in Bluffmaster, or the bumbling character he plays in Dhamaal and Double Dhamaal, you largely associate the actor with comedies and sequels.

For a person that talented, being slotted in one niche isn't at all a good thing. He vents, "Enough of sequels and comedies! Now I can't stand them anymore. Grand Masti is the only film (comedy) that I am working on right now. I want to try new things, get into newer zones."

The actor's ventures so far have been successful. Riteish was part of Dhamaal and Double Dhamaal, Hey Babyy, Masti and its upcoming sequel Grand Masti, Houseful and Houseful 2. The list of comedies doesn't end for the actor.

“I feel exhausted doing comedies now. The last four films that I have done are sequels to earlier parts. So in all these films I am repeating my character.” He adds, “Apart from my experience of being part of earlier films and newness to the scenes, there is nothing dramatic that I am doing in these films. Hence there was a need to do a film like Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya (which was hit), a film like Rann, Aladin (which unfortunately didn't work).”

Come 2013, and the actor will be part of projects that aren't comic. "From next year i.e. from January 2013 onwards I'll be seen doing something different. I have zeroed down two scripts, urban crime thrillers and another drama. So there is a shift of genre in the kind of films I am doing," he adds.

Well, Riteish, so long as the creative actor in you is satisfied, we're sure we'll love you in that role too.
