The Dark Knight Rises.... NOT!!
I and Lucy went to see "The Dark Knight Rises" this past Saturday.
Never big on the Batman Trilogy but I guess due to all the HYPE in the media and sadly i think because of the horrific killings connected with this movie we went to see it.
Perhaps tiring to find some connection, some coherent reason as to WHY this man would use this movie as his back drop for MADNESS AND MASSACRE.
We went to the 4:45pm showing hoping to avoid lines and of course pay the matinee price.Surprisingly there wasn't a lot of people at our showing, about 30 people.
As I sat in my chair the lights went down to introduce the preview trailers. At that moment I began to feel, dread and fearful. Suddenly it was important for me to note all my exists, seating block, distance to the screen and those around me and Lucy.
Our theater was no different than the one in Aurora CO. Newburgh, NY is no different than Aurora either I thought.
Looking over our theater i became panicked, fearful as if I was being channeled by the those poor souls in Colorado.
Only 2 ways out the front exist near screen and the way we came in. We were all contained, caged like animals in a pen.
The overwhelming HORROR AND FRIGHT was enveloping me. I wanted to leave but felt kind of frozen.
My theater only had about 30 patrons unlike the 200 movie goers in Aurora. I could totally feel the panic , helplessness,horrifying fear that they must have felt.
In this black dark cage it would be easy to kill.
Taking some deep breaths at the advise of Lucy I seemed to be calming down, but than it hit me again.
The Cry's of Agony, Cry's of Terror , Cry's of utter helplessness, hoping, begging for MERCY from a MERCILESS MAD MAN!!!!
The brutal yet primal instinct to ESCAPE at any cost. These feelings were almost overwhelming.
They were CHILLING TO MY CORE,LIKE A "FINAL DESTINATION" MOVIE.
I kept my eyes on the exits, no cracks of light coming thru i thought. It was so real to me I could see the MAD MAN standing in front of the movie screen dressed in "black ops" gear, guns and ammo strapped to his body. A mask making him more chilling and horrifying. And I , all of us hesitating, thinking,hmmm is this weirdo part of the show???? And in our hesitation condemning ourselves to the craven whims of a MAD MAN!!.
I expressed my thoughts of leaving to Lucy. She felt it too but we decided to take control and calm ourselves.
The movie began and let me give Lucy and my opinion on this movie.
IT SUCKED!!!!! BIG TIME!!!
Honestly people this movie was terrible.
Endless scenes of seemingly dramatic dialog that went absolutely no where, no connection to the next scene, no continuity at ALL. So chopped up we were not sure why what was happening ,, was happening.
What was so important about "BANE" he was just another under developed villain in this movie. It was bad, we wanted it to end!!!
No path forward to the end, it was like the editor chopped up all the scenes , put them in a big jar, shuck it for 1 minute, than poured all the pieces of film out and spliced them all together without and formula, rhyme or reason.
Like the big pile of Chinese food I ate after the movie.
BQ sliced ribs, rice &veggies, crab meat,stuffed mushrooms, lomein, and General Toa's chicken all in 1 big pile.
I only wish the movie was as good as the food, alas it was not!!.
Christan Bale "A BORE" Everyone else "A BORE TOO"
I realize the movie studio has nothing to do with the Hannis actions of a MAD MAN, but we could not help thinking, "god dam" all those poor people died for this movie????
When the movie ended we were so glad, not that we even knew the movie was ending but glad none the less.
Incredible there were people clapping!! and obviously very happy with this movie.
I looked at Lucy and she at me and I said "didn't they see what we just saw" ????
Again, in my,our opinion the Movie "The Dark Knight Rises"
WAS VERY BAD, I wouldn't rent as a DVD.
Don't waste your money. Go see "Savages" best movie of the year!!!
