Sally Ride and the US Space Program

I was saddened to hear that Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, had died today. She would have remembered the Apollo space missions and landing on the moon in 1969. It is too bad the USA must rely on Russia and other nations for space travel these days. Private companies might start launching people into space for the right price. I will probably not see a mission to Mars in my lifetime, but I think we will be much closer. RIP Sally and thanks for your contribution to space exploration.
