This iReport is part of an assignment:
Gun ownership in America |
I own several guns
Why own more than one wrench?
Why own more than one screwdriver?
Because different jobs, require different tools.
For hunting Duck out on the lake, I have a long barrelled 12 gauge shotgun.
For hunting Deer in the forrest, I have a shorter barrelled 30-30 lever action rifle with scope.
For Home defense in the close quarters of my house, I have a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
A firearm is a tool. The right tool, for the right job, and just like any tool, the skill and trainig of the user determines the quality of the work done.
Blaming a gun for a person being shot, is like blaming a hammer for a bent nail. The hammer didn't bend the nail, the irresponsible person swinging it did.A gun didn't kill or wound the people in Colorado. The mad man shooting it did.
People who want to ban guns, are treating the symptom, while the disease runs merrily along.
You don't stop killings by destroying guns.
You stop kilings by destroying hate.
