Night over Seattle
- Anika3, CNN iReport producer
I was on a flight to Seattle from Greenville that connected in Atlanta as I had been many times over the past couple of months. The flight left Atlanta around 7 so we basically had a slow sunset the majority of the flight. (1st picture)
Another previous flight to Seattle gave me my first glimpse of the Cascades, which is included among the pictures above(2nd picture) There are quite a variety of routes available on such a long trip going from Detroit, Atlanta, or Cincinatti. Within each of these there are different approaches so I'm always interested in occasionally checking out the view even if I have the shade closed.
I was watching a movie so the alternating sunset/cloud was a bit distracting. So while I was watching a movie I had the window shade closed. A few minutes after my movie finished the pilot announced we were clear for landing and that we'd begin our approach. I opened up my window shade to see where we were approaching from and saw the lights of Seattle almost immediately. I reached for my now out-of-date Canon S90 and snapped a few quick pictures. The result is the final picture you see above. What I believe to be a unique view of the City of Seattle. You see the iconic features such as the Space Needle, stadiums, and the new Ferris Wheel overlooking the Puget sound.(3rd picture)
