    Century 16 Aurora Pilgrimage

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     thrushj says his initial shock became worry as he thought his own son might be at the Century Theaters. Especially knowing that it's his favorite theater to go to with his high school and college friends. "I called and texted my son numerous times and did not sleep that night until I got an answer, which was that my son was fine," he says.

Living in Eaton, CO, but having lived in Aurora for several years with many memories of watching Shrek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and 30 other films with his two boys at the same theater where the tragic shooting happened, he says that he was moved to make a drive to the theater.

"The mood was particularly somber, and somewhat eerie with the theater lights on and the yellow police tape still surrounding the entire perimeter. It was also very quiet even with cars and security driving back and forth," he says. "Across the street at the makeshift memorial, people were just quietly walking around and looking at the thousands of bouquets of flowers, lit candles, and stuffed animals people left. It was very quiet, but a group of people with t-shirts on saying "need a hug?" arrived and began asking people if they wanted a hug and some smiles and even laughter broke out."

I lived in Aurora, Colo.for several years. Raised my boys there, and taught a Band Class at a School for 5 years less than ten minutes from Aurora Century 16 Theaters. My Boys and I saw probably at least 30 films there. I went back and visited the Makeshift Memorial, the Theater, and took these pictures.
