Colorado movie theater shooting |
Century 16 Aurora Pilgrimage
Living in Eaton, CO, but having lived in Aurora for several years with many memories of watching Shrek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and 30 other films with his two boys at the same theater where the tragic shooting happened, he says that he was moved to make a drive to the theater.
"The mood was particularly somber, and somewhat eerie with the theater lights on and the yellow police tape still surrounding the entire perimeter. It was also very quiet even with cars and security driving back and forth," he says. "Across the street at the makeshift memorial, people were just quietly walking around and looking at the thousands of bouquets of flowers, lit candles, and stuffed animals people left. It was very quiet, but a group of people with t-shirts on saying "need a hug?" arrived and began asking people if they wanted a hug and some smiles and even laughter broke out."
