    Anaheim Riot

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     mikymunki says he went to the Anaheim protests on July 24 because he thought it would be a historic movement. When he arrived to the downtown area, it was right after protesters were denied entrance to City Hall. He says at this point protesters had taken over the street right outside the area. 'It was pretty simple, everyone was mad,' he says.

'They were taking out their anger on the police and on the city.' He says the crowd stormed the intersection, and at first he thought the amount of police on the scene was a bit excessive, but as the day grew into night he realized how necessary it was to have so many cops out on the streets. 'It isn't comparable to Occupy. Occupy is not necessarily more organized, but it is less violent, there is more respect for the system,' he says.

He says when night came around he definitely felt scared heading back to his car, saying looters were breaking into stores and small fires were being started around the downtown area. 'At the end of the night the police were warranted, the area needed to be under control,' he says.
