    The Rodeo Festival 2012

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter JherryPhons captured these images of the 2012 Rodeo Festival in Urenui, North Taranaki in New Zealand. More than 200 cowboys and thousands of local New Zealanders attended the event, which included activities such as a Rope and Tie event and the ominous sounding Bull Ride. Our iReporter found himself a seat near the fence at the front of the competition to grab the best shots. "Capturing the photos were very exciting because, once the bull and horse were released, the unexpected action happens," he told CNN. "It was thrilling and nerve-racking to watched the participants getting bucked off."
    - sarahbrowngb, CNN iReport producer

These images were captured on February 11, 2012 during the Rodeo and Festival celebration in North Taranaki, New Zealand. The event was attended by thousands of Kiwis around the region and participated by more than two hundred cowboys from all over New Zealand. It was packed with actions and all-day entertainment.
