The Olympic Booster Bus
- sarahbrowngb, CNN iReport producer
A London bus has been transformed into an exercising artwork that can perform push-ups for the London 2012 Olympics.
Czech Artist David Cerny created The London Booster by attaching huge arms, suspension mechanics and adding groaning sound effects to the 1957 double decker bus. The Czech artist said the piece could be seen as ironic because push-ups are "a common exercise for every sportsman" but also punishment.
Cerny, who bought the 1957 Routemaster bus in the Netherlands, spent six months transforming the vehicle into the art piece.
It has already become a tourist attraction, according to Ladislav Pflimpfl, director of the Czech Cultural Centre in London seen here being interviewed by yet another TV crew.
The Booster Bus is on display at the Business Design Centre, off Upper Street, Islington, until August 12.
