CNN PRODUCER NOTE     all8up captured images of how the drought is impacting Decatur, Illinois. In the area there is a dam that produces a lake called Lake Decatur. He says Lake Decatur has not been open since the start of the summer due to drought conditions. He says everywhere the grass is brown, or a golden-brown hue and water restrictions have been set in place for the area.

The drought is not only impacting the environment in Illinois, but it is also impacting the people, he says. 'The drought has directly impacted me financially,' he says. 'I have been able to turn off the air conditioner only twice since Memorial Day, and I also avoiding using the tap water for cooking because we have no good flow of water through the lake, which is our water source.'
