    My Camera for Your Gun

Every time I go on an International trip I try to exchange my camera for the gun of a soldier or policeman and have my picture taken. In most cases it works.

I have had my photo taken in Egypt, China, Mongolia, Russia, Namibia and many other countries with guns.

The soldiers are trusting and I always return their guns to them. My best exchange occurred in Mongolia when the soldier gave me his 50cal to hold.

Attached is photos of me in Franz Joseph land holding a polar bear guards gun (he was there to protect us in the wild from polar bears charging our group. The second photo is a picture of me on a River Nile cruise in Egypt. This part of the Nile was dangerous so soldiers boarded our ship for 2 days.

It took awhile to develop the courage to approach solders and ask for their gun but once you have done it several times it can be interesting.
