    Handmade soap!

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Despite feeling accustomed to seeing handmade soaps, ichalhoub says he felt amazed by all the colors, shapes and scents. "The whole mixture of colors and shapes all over the place made me take about 40 photos. It was like a kingdom of soap," he says. "The soap bars are cut and left to dry. Later on they are taken inside shops to further produce wonderful shapes. Some are even pierced to allow a thread to pass through them, thus forming necklace-like bundles of colored soap." His third image was featured as CNN's Travel Photo of the Day for October 24, 2012!

Tripoli – Lebanon. It is colorful and of many forms. Soap is manufactured and left in piles to dry for further working and polishing. At the end it is set to form a wonderful display. One could stay for hours enjoying scents and colors! Photos taken on July 31, 2012.
