    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     In pursuit of the "underlying emotional content of everyday experiences," Capistrano99 of Woodbridge, Virginia, shares these timeless black and white film images she took as a freelance photographer in the 1970s. Capistrano99 has yet to cross over to digital photography and says she "remains wedded" to her Nikkormat camera and to film. "After working with this camera since the age of 22, I feel like we are a team."

    As I searched through my files to find images for my "New York in the Seventies" report, I was reminded of my love of stories as reflected in portaiture. Here are some of my favorite faces, in photos taken during the 1970s and 80s.
