Election 2012: Your stories |
Economy and Culture Romney style.
This graphic is so clear, that even if you are blind to most critique on Romney, you cannot ignore the obvious truth in front of you. There are no two ways about it.
Romney wanted to please wealthy Israeli donors with his remark. He may have scored some points, but this blunder will come back and bite him.
And no, I am not anti-Israel, I am of Jewish origin myself. I do not agree with the far right in Israel either and there are lot more Israelis who don't.
I think eventually the people in Israel will elect more progressive government and achieve peace. (I am for the two state solution personally.)
Mr. Obama and Sec. Clinton are making the right efforts toward our relation to Israel. Mr Romney cannot see beyond his nose.
PS If you assume Mr. Romney 's argument about culture as it relates to economy is true, then think: Our own economic collapse that peaked in 2008, was the consequence of our bad culture. A culture of extinguishing the middle class, endless disputes over policy, divisiveness and polarization of various parties and groups, promotion of hostility, bigotry and violence in the name of patriotism. (Palin: Retreat and reload).
Assuming Romney believes that a nation's bad culture leads to bad economy, you would expect him to have the integrity to moderate things, to address the divisiveness of the Extreme Right, to bring back reason and compassion, to heal our dysfunctional Democracy. Instead, he jumped on the band wagon of the TEA Party. If he somehow makes it to the White House, he will be a puppet dictator for the TEA party. A party that fights for the freedom of some, by chaining the opposition.
May God have mercy on us.
