    Beachvolley portuguese referee in London

    Portugal may have not qualified any beach volleyball team, but certainly they are well represented in the sport. The international referee Rui Carvalho is present in the London Olympics 2012 thus becoming the second portuguese referee to receive this distinction, after the participation of Avelino Azevedo in the Atlanta (USA) Olympic Games in 1996, the year thay Beach Volleyball made ​​its debut as an Olympic sport and Portugal got a history 4. place through team Miguel Maia / Joao Brenha.
    But other distinguished personalities of the portuguese volleyball will be present as well.
    Vicente Araujo, President of the Portuguese Volleyball Federation (FPV) and Executive Vice President of the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and José Casanova, a member of the FIVB Refereeing Commission.
    Vicente Araujo will be presiding the official medal awarding ceremonies of the beach volleyball tournament, in the quality of Head of the Sport in the Olympic Games, London 2012
