Tripoli – Lebanon. In his 8 square meters shop in the old are of Zkak El Terbiha, Ali starts his work in the morning until 1 am the next day. He uses plastic molds of different sizes to make shoes for the local market. “It’s a tough job requiring skill and strength”, he said. Ali doesn’t like his work, but he has no other option as he cannot afford to waste time in applying to a new job. “I need to make daily work in order to feed my 4 children”, he added. Without people like Ali, the demands of many markets within Lebanon would not be met! Photos taken on August 1, 2012.
