    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Rizzo72, a former police officer, says 'it's always nice to have that option of being able to protect yourself if the need arises ... other than the police department, I never had to physically pull my curent weapon out on anybody for any reason, but it's nice to have a firearm with you for proteciton.'

    I'm a former Police Officer and can tell you from experiences that  there are a lot of people out there that want to pray on the weak and  defenseless. The criminal element loves gun control and knows when and  where guns are allowed. (Some are very smart) I own and carry a gun to  protect my family friends and if necessary citizens that may need help  from criminals that have no regard for human life. I'm not out looking  for trouble but if trouble shows up I want to be prepared.

    Lets keep in mind that its the everyday citizen first on scene 98% of the time not the Police.
