Corey Cogdell is a female Trap Shooter on the US Olympic team and a favorite to win the Gold Medal. She previously took home the bronze in Women's Trap at the 2008 games.

Corey has become a controversial figure in London, due to her unabashed support of trophy hunting and she has become the focal point for angry animal rights advocates in the United States and abroad. She came to their attention due to numerous photos that were posted on her Facebook page of her posing smiling next to the animals she has shot. Here are some images from the examiner.com and Outdoor LIfe.com. Some may find them disturbing.

Other photos showed her with dead Springbok, Black Wildebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Greater Kudu, Blesbok, Red Hartebeest, Impala, Pheasants, Deer, Moose, Canadian geese and a large Kodiak Brown Bear.

Corey's hunting advocacy has resulted in a petition which has garnered thousand sof signatures in a few days and a number of Facebook pages as well.
