    Chick-fil-A demonstrations

    No, Chik-Fil-A, pardon OUR progress.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     laurengitis says she and her girlfriend Ana were passing by a Chick-fil-A in Columbus, Georgia, when they read the sign "Please pardon our progress." 'We thought it was so ironic,' she says. She and her girlfriend got out of their car and decided to take a picture kissing in front of the store’s sign.

'I think it is the opposite of progress, especially if they are putting money into companies that finance their anti-gay ideologies,' she says. She believes a lot of people are using the term "free speech" as a way to mask the actual issues behind Chick-fil-A. 'It's not about free speech... It is hate that has been twisted into free speech,' she says.

When she saw the amount of support the company got on Chick-fil-A appreciation day, she felt like it was a slap in the face. 'I won't be buying from there, it is sad to see a company with such a good product support such hate,' she says.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Their marquee during this time of mudslinging was too ironic to pass up, so my girlfriend and I posed for this picture in Columbus, GA.
