    Syria in Lebanon: Continuous protests

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     ichalhoub says sit-in demonstrations manifested by the Liberation Party, and it was also organized by a group of Islamist university students who are protesting the Syrian government's treatment of its people. He says hundreds of people participated in the demonstration in Tripoli, Lebanon on August 4.

During the protesting hear could tell there was Syrians amongst the crowd. 'You could hear their accents,' he says. 'They wanted Bashar to die because that would be the only way to relieve the Syrian people from the suffering he is causing them,' he says. He says the Lebanese government has decided not to interfere with the conflict in Syria. He had a chance to speak to a Free Syrian Army member who said he was proud of the Lebanese people for giving Syrians refuge in their homes.

Despite the turnout, he does not believe the protesting will help. 'Authorities won't listen as evidenced by the stance of the government since the beginning of the Syrian revolution. In addition, we were only two people covering the event, me with photos and a friend with video. Except for the cameraman, no local media was present to transmit the demands and ailments of the people,' he says.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Tripoli – Lebanon. Abu Samra and Kobbeh regions had manifestations and sit-ins against Bashar Al Assad, Hezbollah, & the Lebanese government. There were children, women, and young adults all singing Syrian songs made in Syria throughout the year. Everybody knew the songs. They were shouting against Bashar.
It started after Muslim night prayers. These are not members of a political party. They are groups of people who have a common goal: Help Syrian refugees & ask for the departure of the Syrian regime.
There were many Syrians among them singing and hailing for Syria to the extent that one would think he/she was not in Lebanon, rather in one of the neighborhoods of Syria.
Wounded members from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) joined at the end while people were hailing through microphones: Long lives the Free Syrian Army. Photos taken on August 4, 2012.
