    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     jaysfca captured this image on the West Coast of Ireland in 1999 with a Kodak disposable camera. "I think it was in Sligo County right near the ocean," he says. " What compelled me to take the photo was that it was an interesting scene. The barren and rocky surface was what stood out to me as being otherworldly."

    I photographed this cow grazing amongst the rocks in Connaught (Ireland's west coast) in 1999. Englishman Oliver Cromwell gave the Irish a choice between "Hell or Connaught" in the 1600's. This barren landscape is certainly hellish for a farmer.
