    Video Visits

Some of you may be Skyping already. Jails and prisons across the country are adopting video visiting systems for loved ones to visit with their family ones who are incarcerated. It negates the need to do searches of visitors and thus reduces expenses as well. Some jails are charging for video visits at $15 for 15 minutes. Some prisoners don't like it as it doesn't offer the chance for a more meaningful face to face visit. Broward County jails adopted the video system in 2007. It is also done in Washington DC jails and Maricopa County Az jails.
