"I have never seen anything like it. The corn crops should have a vibrant green look, not yellow-brown. And the soy bean fields are usually very full and lush, but are sparse and browning," he says. "Not only are corn crops withering and lakes drying up, but many trees are beginning to die. Our county, along with most others in Indiana have been declared a federal drought disaster area. Farmers are facing big losses as drought stricken fields have withered, low lake levels and stream levels have ruled out most boating, kayaking, or water skiing activities, and the drought has certainly taken its toll on wildlife."
