    Transposing confrontations

Tripoli – Lebanon. Confrontations hit El Mina area this time. Tuesday August 7 at night, gunshots were heard in Hosh El Abeed street. Gunmen from militia of Sheikh Hachem Minkara (pro-Syrian regime) set up themselves in the mosque and started firing haphazardly leading to wounding of 4 adolescents. The shooting started as part of a confrontation with Islamists and Salafists along with partisans of Future movement members (all against Syrian regime) in the same street and those bordering it. Armed forces stood on borders and created a tamper area in front of the mosque to prevent further clashes. This is some kind of a series of recurrent confrontations between similar groups (in terms of relation to Syrian regime). However, the Syrian problem seems to be roving the neighborhoods of north Lebanon after it has entered the country more than a year ago. In the photos, bullet holes in glass & body of cars, people and army in the street where clashes occurred, wounded 15 year old Bilal who had nothing to do with issue but happened to live with his family 50 meters away from the mosque. Photos taken on August 7, 2012 at around midnight.
