    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter REMARD captured these images of the torrential rain and heavy flooding in Manila, Philippines to show the destruction wreaked on the city by the water. "Underpasses were not passable to any type of vehicles due to the high water level. In the streets there were waist and knee deep floodwaters [and] stranded locals tried to wade through it despite the danger," he said.

    Floodwater continues to cover most of the roads in Metro Manila on Thursday 09 August 2012, as continuous torrential rain in the Philippine capital and northern provinces of Luzon, forced thousands to flee their homes while hundreds more are stranded on their rooftops, since Monday.
