Our proposal (Melissa & Chris)
After arriving at the Charlotte airport after a 9.5 hour flight from studying abroad in Italy, I walked to the baggage claim and saw my family sitting down. I remember hearing my mom say, "there she is" and getting her camera ready. I somehow bypassed my 6'8 boyfriend, but after a sec or two, I turned and saw him standing there with a bouquet of roses. I was so startled, I let go of my fifty pound suitcase and it hit the floor. Many tears ensued. Now, we had just skyped that morning in Rome and Chris led me to believe that he was still in New York (he was not, he was at his parent's house in Kingsport). I had no idea he was going to surprise me at the airport. I was so happy to see him :)
He got down on one knee and proposed. I remember both of our hands were shaking. The welcoming area erupted with applause and my parents, grandparents and sister (who videotaped the whole thing) came over to offer congratulations. It was the best day of my life and I can't wait to marry my best friend!
