    Romney's VP pick

    More from TwoSee

GOVERNOR ROMNEY!!! Look at me! (Why Marco Rubio is the winning choice!)

There are many factors to consider in selecting a Vice President. I urge Governor Mr. Romney to do what is best to preserve the two party system and the Republican Party.

What is the future of the Republican Party? Will it still be a viable political force in 2030 when the Hispanic voter represents 27%???

A recent poll shows the Hispanic Vote for Romney as less than John McCain or George Bush. It is mathematically improbable to get enough electoral votes with such a low Hispanic vote.

Every 30 seconds a potential Latino voter turns 18. This is our changing electorate and our future. 59% of Latinos say the immigration issue is the MOST IMPORTANT issue for their vote.

Will a low number of Hispanics voting Republican turn traditionally red states to blue?

Convention wisdom says a Republican candidate must get at least 40% of the Hispanic vote to win.

I estimate the break even point for Romney assuming the Hispanic turnout of 2008 plus 1% using the models of Latino Decisions. If Romney could get 40% of the Latino vote, he could carry several swing states including Nevada, Colorado, Arizona and Florida. (Graph)

Since Obama support the DREAM Act, what could put these votes in Romney's pocket???

The Rubio Plan and a improvement to the long waiting list for F visas to Mexicans. Currently, the F-1 waiting list for Mexicans is between 19 to 20 years, as compared to only 5 years for other countries. It is unfair. (Puppet show)

President Obama discriminates against Mexicans every day, and he probably doesn't even know it!!!  His administration continued  the same per country limitation as the prior Administration, but he let the good things -- like temporary agricultural worker permits -- expire.

As a result, Mexico has the same per country limit as Monoco, Liechtenstein and other tiny countries.  Because of this, Mexico has THE LONGEST WAITING PERIOD for an F visa than any other country.

Right now, a Mexican citizen has to wait between 19 to 20 years for an F-1 visa, but every other country has a wait of 5 to 6 years.  The DREAM Act does not help these people.

The primary vulnerability of Obama's immigration stance is that the DREAM Act helps those who broke the law, and does not help those obeying the law.

To beat Obama, Romney should adopt the Rubio Plan AND add something to cut the long wait period for Mexicans.  The wait period could be fixed by raising the cap just for Mexico (by law), declaring an emergency exception, or by adding guest worker opportunities specifically for those on the F-1 waiting list for Mexico (by law).

Immigration is a VERY complex issue, and Romney needs someone who understands the problems and work out a solution.  Our economy is dependent on immigrant labor for workers in daycare, nursing homes, road construction and roofing.... Particularly, in the border states.  If Romney does get control of the border, he needs to make sure it doesn't drive American businesses into bankruptcy.

Fortunately, when the Republicans need a solution, they have Senator Marco Rubio. Marco Rubio has an excellent knowledge of the nuances of US Immigration Policy.

Marco Rubio appeals to the middle class because of his working class roots. (Photos from Marco Rubio's private collection).

He knows what it is like to be in a close race. He has debate experience from being in three televised debates for the Florida Senate Race.

He would make a great contrast to Joe Biden. (Photo of Rubio with Biden)

Out of all the candidates on Governor Romney's short list, Marco Rubio is the only one with proven skill and experience on Sunday shows, politics and national news shows.

His appeal to the American Dream has made Rubio more than just an American son.... He is like one of OUR sons!
