    Be like Greg

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Greg Maccoux may have special needs and suffer from limited mobility, but that didn't deter him away from his goal to raise $2000 by collecting aluminum cans to send kids with disabilities to Wisconsin's Lions Camp. Having been a camper himself 30-years-ago, Greg describes it as having been the best experience ever and has become an inspiration for many. djBIG is among one of the people who feel Greg has been a source of inspiration for what it means to live as a good person.

"He not only wants to provide the same experiences he had as a child, but to also do it in honor of his father who passed away from brain cancer. He started picking up cans two years ago and he wants children to be happy," he says. "Although he is learning disabled, he clearly understands many children with disabilities have a tough path ahead in life. He had so much fun at this camp that he wants all kids to have that too."

djBIG's dad having been Greg's high school principal, he says he always heard stories about Greg. "A couple years ago, I started seeing Greg regularly because he lives in a apartment near a local pub where I set up my DJ equipment on Thursdays," he says. "The game changer for me was when he first told me "I used to collect cans for my spending money to buy candy and gum, but now I am going to save all that money to try and send a kid to camp." I was blown away with his lack of selfishness. In today's world, everyone seems to be about their own self. For a big guy like Greg with all his challenges, to put himself second, simply amazed me."
    - Anika3, CNN iReport producer

Greg Maccoux is nearly 7 feet tall and was born with learning disabilities. In the last two years he has undergone surgery having a steel rod and pin in his leg, going through rehab, being released and having the pin and rod break due to his large frame. In Greg's "spare" time, he decided to try and raise money to help children with disabilities attend "Lions Camp" near Stevens Point, WI. Greg started picking up aluminum cans and raised over $2000. This is his moment leading up to the check presentation to the campers and staff.
