Turbulence, violence in the Middle East |
Syrian spring signed by children
Tripoli – Lebanon. Children of Syrian refugees in north Lebanon expressed their wish to reach victory and get back home. These are children coming mainly from Homs. They lost one of their parents (mainly father) in the war against the Syrian regime. They had Ramadan dinner (iftar) at a facility for a Lebanese Muslim Association specialized in the help of the poor. Members of the UN Refugee Agency arrived to provide necessary guidance about registration for further help by the agency. Those people live with Lebanese families for the time being. Songs around the cake were not about a birthday. They were actually singing for freedom! Photos taken on August 9, 2012.
