Network TV Condones Disrespect of Women with use of "C" Word
Forget that preseason football has finally arrived. Something bigger is about to happen. Huffington Post and numerous websites are all riled up about an upcoming Bravo TV August 19, 2012, episode. They are not announcing a new line up of fine broadcasting. Nope, it is bigger than that. Real Housewives of New Jersey, reality “star” Joe Giudice allegedly calls his wife the “C” word (rhymes with bunt). Almost two weeks ago, we saw a man proudly showing his sorry looking erection through his boxer underwear on the same show. Ugh. How will Bravo TV top this? I do not want to even begin guessing.
What amazes me is that I am actually supporting this true trash TV by purchasing items at Target and Macy’s. They advertise on Bravotv.com. Along with these companies, you can find advertisements from Florida’s Natural Orange Juice, Levi’s, Taco Bell, Air Optix, AT&T, and VESIcare to name a few. And, Quaker Oats (owned by PespsiCo) runs commercials during the show. So much for “wholesome goodness.”
Durex and Planned Parenthood also advertise on BravoTV.com. Somehow, seeing these two companies on the website is actually comforting. After all, Richard Wakile did have an erection on the show that he may or may not have utilized. (I am hoping he did not procreate.) And, I am almost happy to see Planned Parenthood on the website. These people should not be making any more contributions to our society’s collective gene pool.
I wonder why family stores like Target and Macy’s support Bravo TV? If they continue to advertise with them, when I hear Target’s slogan, “Expect More Pay Less,” I will only be thinking, “Expect Less, “C” Word,” because they will be condoning this type of programming. One of Macy’s 2012 slogans is, “The Magic of Macy’s.” Macy’s use your magic and stop advertising on this show.
