Not only as a Sikh, but as a human being, I ask that any one who reads this begin to pay attention to how open minded they are. I used to think I was open minded until I started to check myself. For example, when I saw Middle Eastern people I would begin to get scared. Then I used to think, wait-what have they done to me? what do I know about them? nothing. So why am I making judgments that aren't necessary or even supported by any proof? Living in America, we have the pride to say we live with people of all backgrounds and we live civilly and for the most part in peace. Without people of all backgrounds, America would be practically unoccupied. White, black, brown...we are all human beings. We all want a family, a nice house, a good education/job, and a happy life. The only way we can ALL have that, is if we work together and work to learn more about each other's diversity which in essence is out nation's strength. Please, please, please: next time you judge a person, on any basis whether racial, gender, sexuality, religion...ask yourself what facts you know, and if you know little to none then do your research or better yet, build a relationship with that person. Communicate and build a symbiotic and educational bond. With these simple self-checks and communication skills, we can create such a better world around us. Please adopt and spread this mentality and live for happiness. God Bless
