Light Years: Your view of space and stars

    Distant Meteor

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Grant Easdon watched the sky over Houston, Texas, for two hours on August 12. While waiting outside between the hours of two to four in the morning, he says he saw over fifty meteors fly overhead. 'I'm a superstitious person and make a wish on every shooting star that I see, I thought, "well what could a few extra wishes hurt?"' he said. This was the first meteor shower he has ever seen, and he says he was not disappointed by the starry spectacle. He used iPhoto to add a tint of blue to make the sky look more like it did when he originally took the image.
