Governor Ajimobi must come out clean on YES-O Cadets and his daughter’s State NYSC award
The party that is so consumed with this delusion and heresy has employed propaganda to hoodwink many Nigerians especially in the south western part of Nigeria into believing that they are the only party of the people. It is on this premise that we as a group is challenging the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi to come out clean and explain to the good people of Oyo State how his daughter was posted to his home State, that is the Oyo State to carry out her National Youth Service Corps and also how she emerged one of the best corps member for the 2011 batch B service year.
The Governor should equally take his time to explain to the good people of Oyo State how many of the Yes-o cadets were employed.
We are aware that the Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi actually used his influence to manipulate the NYSC posting of his daughter to his State, the Oyo State who at the commencement of the camping at the orientation camp, Iseyin, was brought by her mother in but did not spend a day at the orientation camp at Iseyin. It however came as a surprise when in the Passing- Out Parade at Lekan Salami, Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan; the young lady was among the five out-going members of the National Youth Service Corps 2011 Batch ‘B’ in the State who received NYSC State Honours Award.
Miss Ajibola Ajimobi, Miss Ajewole Deborah Omotunde, Miss Otiapene Lynda, Mr. Osinubi Olaide Abdullateef and Mr. Bamikunle Razaq Adewole were those who bagged the NYSC State Honours Award on the occasion of the 2011 Batch 'B' Passing-Out.
Ajibola Ajimobi was a Batch ‘B’ corps member with state code number OY/IIB/2465 who according to the NYSC in Oyo State bagged the award based on the fact that she executed projects that were about N30 million. The five of them were also presented with cash reward of N100, 000 and certificates of honour.
The Governor’s daughter according to the Oyo State NYSC was honoured for coming out tops in seven different NYSC community development projects, worth over N30 million but our findings revealed that the projects were over N50 million.
The seven projects which included the building of an equipped ICT centre at the state NYSC secretariat and the renovation of a two-storey classroom block at Eleyele High School, Ibadan. Others included the construction of a six-room VIP toilet at the same high school and provision of water.
We now challenge the Governor to explain to the good people of Oyo State how his daughter ended up executing N30million project without him manipulating this for his daughter. The truth is that if she is not a Governor’s daughter, she would not have raised such huge amount of money for project. We know of many corps members who could not find sponsors for ordinary half a million project not to talk of N30miilion. So we challenge the Governor to explain this because he who comes with equity must come with a clean hand.
We also want the Governor to explain to the people of Oyo State, how many Yes-O cadets were employed. Our findings revealed that contrary to the claim by Ajimobi government that 20,000 youths were employed- only 7200 were employed.
We equally want to challenge the Governor to explain to the good people of Oyo State how the cadets’ allowances are being paid because we are aware that many of the youths employed have not received anything from the government despite report from the Ministry of Finance that indicates that allowances of 20,000 youths are being paid every month.
