    Fire in Lassen National Park

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     On a drive to see Summit Lake, BobFromSB says he and his wife were awestruck by the dramatic sight of the smoke-filled sky. "My wife and I wanted to drive through the whole park, until we discovered that the road was closed," he says. "We just watched from a safe distance. I was sad to see the destruction."

    While vacationing in Lassen Volcanic National Park, our trip was interrupted by the large fire there which closed the main (only) road through the park. We took these photos of the smoke.
