Cities in Sweden need and expect more money from government in Stockholm

Main news this morning from Smalandstidningen is how Nassjo’s city head kommunalrad Mr. Bo Zander (s) was one of several Swedish city politicians to write an article on the refugee situation. Mr. Zander sees the issue clearly, the Swedish cities doesn’t receive adequate support and funding when they are receiving foreigners and also children asylum seekers.

The critique is sharp and several city politicians like Mr. Zander wrote on the topic together. In this we can see the reasons for increasing nationalism and people who fear this will tear the welfare state apart.

Mr. Zander also welcomes refugees and foreigners, not what the issue is about, but he is very clear that Nassjo as a city must receive more money to cover all the costs associated in receiving people from foreign countries.

In this mentioning there is more to be said but this a very important mentioning that now we have a clear debate in Sweden it costs money and the central government in Stockholm has failed to pay the cities in Sweden who take responsibilities here, one being Nassjo, north of Savsjo.
