    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter 3Bobby captured this image of a derelict and overgrown vending hut in Calamba, Philippines earlier this year. The owner, he says, most likely did not have enough business to keep it going. Our iReporter says he, too, has been hit by the financial crisis in his new home country of England. "We have had to respond accordingly by spending only on essential goods and services. In fact, some household related projects are put on hold, although I know we have to spend every now and then to help our country recover," he said.

    During my visit to the Philippines, I came across this abandoned Nipa Hut beside the main road of our town. It's more likely to be a place for a fruit vendor who succumbed to the effects of the world-wide crisis which hit most the poorest of the poor.
