I wish this was a playground.
I remember waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread coming from this corner when I was young. A big charming and convenient bakery was poised on this busy junction.
I'd run towards the shop and choose from a variety of shapes and flavors of bread from their big glass window and watch the noisy slicing machine shake and cut one loaf after another while my order is placed neatly in a brown paper bag. I recall repeatedly stopping myself from running home. I was always too excited to sink my teeth in the warm Spanish bread that I gingerly carry as I walk a few steps towards our gate. The bakery was just next to my house.
Years later, half of the shop transformed to a convenient store and a few years more, it closed down. The building was left unattended for many years until it was demolished.
This corner would be perfect for a fenced playground. Adjacent to it is a street filled with kids who regularly play and run in the streets.
