    Half Dome: Check!

I was asked a few months ago if I would like to join a few buddies on a four-day backpacking trip through Yosemite, which would include Half Dome. As you can imagine I don't think I even read the rest of the email, once I read Half Dome I knew I had to go.

Half Dome has been on my Life's To-Do List since I first saw in Outside Magazine, as a kid 20 years ago. Most people go up in one long day and in my opinion don't get to experience Half Dome in its full glory. John Muir, the famous explorer, did not just walk up one morning and see it. He wandered, and wandered, and wandered and... ok you get the point. He got to see the whole landscape of Yosemite before recognizing that Half Dome was something special.

We started 45 miles away from Half Dome and just like John Muir we wandered by windswept lakes, over 10,500ft passes, along silent rivers and by raging waterfalls. Bruised and tired we woke up extra early on the last day to hike Half Dome.

Half Dome is now officially checked off my Life’s To-Do
List and is an experience I will never forget.

In the words on John Muir, "Climb the mountains and get there good tidings."

    I know we certainly did.
