CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter markpel heard there would be protests in support of Russian feminist punk band Pussy Riot outside the Russian embassy in Berlin, Germany. He captured these images of supporters wearing balaclavas in homage to the group, who were found guilty of hooliganism and sentenced to two years in prison for performing a song critical of President Vladimir Putin in a Moscow church. He arrived as the supporters were waiting for the verdict. "After the demonstration police said that the demonstrators should leave the scene, but they stayed there for waiting the news from Moscow," he said. While their actions outraged many in Russia, their high-profile trial prompted international concern about freedom of speech in Russia.
