    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Waiting for his son in the Alamodome parking lot in San Antonio, Jaime says he was surprised to notice smoke coming from the side of Highway 281 when he looked at his rearview mirror. "At first I was startled because it was totally unexpected to see huge flames and lots of smoke in the middle of such a busy highway, but then I quickly realized that the police and fire department had it completely under control," he says. "The fire department was on scene about five minutes after it started. It took probably about 40 minutes for the flames to extinguish."

    A discarded cigarette seems to be the cause of this fire on highway 281 which runs in between downtown San Antonio and the Alamodome.
