    Full Moon Over the Seine

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     On vacation in Paris and en route to the Olympics in London, tomkellyfoto took this photo on August 2 along the River Seine. "The scene was very vivid as we walked along the Seine after dinner. It was amazing to see the moon," he says. "There's an entire life that goes on around the Seine late at night. People quietly walk along the upper level sidewalks and down below at water level, friends gather around and drink wine."

    Paris is the city of love, with magical scenes and life intertwined with its romantic sidewalk cafes and the River Seine winding a pathway through its streets.

    On a balmy August night, the full moon peeks between openings in the cloud to cast its light onto the River Seine as the Cathedral of Notre Dame stands sentinel. Along the riverway, crowds gather at midnight to share wine and conversation.

    It is the heartbeat of the city.
