GOP candidate Todd Akin says rape has to be legitimate in order to get pregnant.

Unbelievable. Todd Akin who is running for senate seat in Missouri says in order to get pregnant from a rape it has to be legitimate. So ladies if you do find yourself being raped by some idiot, stop,  take a deep breath and calmly ask " Is this a legitimate rape?" That way you'll know for sure if you will be getting pregnant or not from the traumatizing ordeal, because according to Akin " If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has a way to shut that whole thing down." Well I didn't know that my body had a way of shutting down on sperm you know without using birth control. I didn't know my body could tell the difference between  rapist sperm and  normal sperm. Maybe the rapists sperm carries a sign stating "I belong to the rapist, and then the woman's egg puts up a roadblock saying "No rapist sperms allowed." Maybe the egg has a taser and it stings the rapist sperm. Who knows. Can you picture it? You know the cartoon drawings of the egg and the sperm but this one holding a sign saying " I came from the rapist!" Maybe he needs to tell us how this works.  We need to teach this in medical school perhaps?  Wow. Of course he's trying to walk it back now.

“First of all, from what I understand from doctors, (pregnancy from rape) is really rare,” Akin told KTVI-TV in a clip posted to YouTube by the Democratic super PAC American Bridge. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."
