    Today around the world, 1.8 billion Muslims is celebrating the Islamic festival of Eid ul Fitr that ends the fasting month of Ramadan, by participating in feasts, family reunions and other festivities.

    Syrian President Bashar al-Assad performed prayers in a Damascus mosque marking the start of the Muslim Eid holiday on Sunday, as His troops bombarded civilians and killed children in Syria.

    The children were among at least 200 people reported killed in 24 hours in shelling by the Syrian army and 2 children killed on the first day of the Eid ul Fitr.
    Two children were among at least 19 people reported killed in shelling by the Syrian army on the first day of Muslim Eid holiday.

    The children were killed on Sunday by continued shelling on the town of Maaret al-Numan in Idlib province, activists said.
    Troops also bombarded the besieged city of Rastan, in the central province of Homs, and the eastern city of Deir Ezzor.
